My rule has always been ‘Bad News First’.
Everything was ready for the September release of Hit the Ground Running, but due to several unrelated factors, my publisher, Fierce Ink Books, decided it could no longer continue operations. This was a very difficult decision for them considering how much effort they had put into recent acquisitions and how much of a presence they had in the publishing community. They are good people who cared a lot about what they were doing, and I’m grateful for the opportunity they provided me.
The good news is, before wrapping things up, Fierce Ink was kind enough to recommend me to another publisher, and I’m happy to say I’ve reached an agreement to publish all three books in the Hit the Ground Running series with Blue Moon Publishers out of Stratford, Ontario. I’m very excited to be involved with this knowledgable and hardworking group of people, and I’m also excited about continuing with my editor, Allister Thompson, as we work through the rest of the books in the series.
We are now looking at a summer, 2017 release of Hit the Ground Running, with Books 2 and 3 to follow in 2018 and 2019. Book 1 is ready to go, Book 2 is in mid-level drafts, and Book 3 is in first draft, so things are moving along. More to come!
